Trial by Fire - A Tribute to Journey Greenville Concert reviews
Reba is #1!!!!!!
We bought tickets for this concert to see George once in their life. I felt any real country fan should see Trial by Fire - A Tribute to Journey. You could say it was on my 'bucket list'. I told my husband it would be my Christmas, Valentine's Day, and birthday present. $100.00 a ticket is pretty pricey for us.
I like Leann Womack, though she is a little flat as a performer, it was worth it to see her sing 'Dance' in person. She can sing but offers little more to her performance. She did come back and sing a song with Reba, and it was excellent.
I like Reba as a person but have never before been a huge Reba fan. That has all changed. She is A #1 top performer. Of course, she has a T.V. show (which I love) and has been on Broadway. Lets just say she knows how to PERFORM!!!! She probably did a 1 & 1/2 hr. show. She said when she walked out on stage. We are here to make sure you all have a good time and they did. Her musicians look like they are having a blast and they are all excellent!! I love Jennifer her back up vocalist; she is great and has a great time on stage. Reba gives her a lot of attention. I won't spoil her encore presentation; it is over the top. Don't go to the lobby like my husband did!!!
Now George, it was refreshing to see so many young people on their feet having a good time enjoying these, dare I say 'vintage' country stars. All in all flaws and all, it was a great concert and we walked away feeling we got our money's worth. I really wonder if Conseco field house is designed for acoustics?? That may have been part of the problem. Each singer had their own musicians and equipment. Each had about a 20-minute intermission between each. It was a 4 1/2-hour concert, rest up. I wanted to pull one of George's musicians off the stage and say, come out here, the sound is not good. Loud but not clear. We could hardly hear his vocals and yet we had a good time. His encore presentation of 4 songs was excellent, for some reason more clear.
